Can games be art?
For me art is a way of depicting an idea or concept through the artists chosen medium. Games can be used as a medium for art, but I do not believe that this leads to a blanket statement that all games should be considered art.
Pollock used paint and canvas to create works of art, but not everyone using the same tools would create something of the same cultural worth. Likewise many games are games, and whilst they should be appreciated in that context, I do not believe they could be described as works of art.
